I take a winter (cherry blossom early) break while I'm still digesting all the Oscar buzz and watch a summer flick. Netflix bubbled a surprise to the top. Perfect timing for The Perfect Getaway. I take in the scenes from David Twohy's film cradling my cereal dish full of a new favorite Trader Joe snack. A newlywed couple honeymoon in the lushness of Hawaii. My hand dips into Macadamias, Ginger, Cranberries & Almonds and makes my mouth water. The honeymooners engage with other friendly couples. Chats. Spats. Aspirations. Two bites of salty almond with a bit of surprise ginger wake up my tastebuds. I watch the couples brave the elements, dodge bullets and wield their knives. Nuts and sweet and salt. Treats and story thrill my senses. Keep me engaged. Oh, yeah. I turn to my man and declare yes! I know who the murderers are. No. Yes. Ah ha. Twice I yelp out loud. Milla Jovovich has interested me since The Fifth Element. Steve Zahn, very adaptable. Timothy Olyphant, I like him. I think he's a product of Robert Wagner's loins. Don't forget to stop by Trader Joes. |
